Lindsey Wilson College, an entrepreneurial, private college located in south-central Kentucky, is pleased to announce an opening for a Registrar in the Registrar’s office. The Registrar supervises and directs the operations, functions, and technology-related services of the Registrar’s office to include accurate and secure maintenance of all student records and the transmission of student information in compliance with generally accepted professional standards, federal law, state law, and accreditation requirements. The Registrar works closely with the academic administration and plays an active role in the development and implementation of academic policies and processes. The Registrar reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves on the Academic Affairs Council and the General Education Committee. The Registrar is a voting member of the Faculty Assembly.

The Registrar will guide the continuing evolution of the office’s services and the adoption of new technologies, and should be eager and prepared to keep good pace with rapidly changing trends in information access. In addition, the Registrar must possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail, excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work successfully with faculty, staff, students, and alumni.  The successful candidate for the Registrar’s position will have a Master’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must have at least five years of related experience including related supervisory experience. A minimum of three years of direct experience in a registrar’s office is expected as part of the five years of experience. The College offers courses at its main campus and at 24 community campuses in five states and online, therefore, experience in working with adult students who study at community campuses and online will be an asset.

The responsibilities for the Registrar’s position include the following:

  • Manages, administers, and develops registration processes and procedures.
  • Hires, supervises, and evaluates the Registrar Office staff.
  • Provides leadership for the development/maintenance of records and registration systems.
  • Develops and administers the departmental budget.
  • Supervises the coordination, evaluation, and certification of all graduation applications.
  • Supervises the processes for the articulation of all transfer credits, graduation and certification of all degrees, enrollment and degree verification, production of official transcripts, diplomas, and commencement ceremonies.
  • Collaborates and communicates with the Financial Aid Office staff and the Business Office on students’ financial aid/tuition issues.
  • Certifies student enrollment for external agencies.
  • Administers College degree audits and course transfer programs.
  • Ensures College compliance with Federal and State educational laws, guidelines, and reporting requirements as they relate to academic records and ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students.
  • Participates in and is responsible for the preparation of official internal and external reporting related to academic and student records including monitoring Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and notifying students of their SAP statuses.
  • Serves as administrator for BANNER management software.
  • Oversees grade processing, academic probation and suspension processing, and timely student notification.
  • Supervises and directs the operations, functions, and technology-related services of the Registrar’s Office.
  • Coordinates the class schedule creation process in collaboration with academic departments.
  • Performs end-of-term processes that include updating student credit hour and GPA calculations, academic standing, and honors.
  • Coordinates the submission of enrollment and degree reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Develops the Academic Calendar, ensuring the appropriate number of contact hours for all scheduled classes.
  • Assists the Athletics Department with certification and compliance in accordance with NAIA student athlete eligibility guidelines.
  • Serves as the certifying official for Veterans Affairs.

The Registrar must be ready to work in a self-directed manner when managing the daily operation of the office and must communicate issues to the administration and other departments as they arise. The Registrar is expected to require all individuals and departments to follow the academic policies of the College.

ONLINE ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR

The Online Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting, support and registration of qualified applicants for admission.  This person is also responsible for completing appropriate follow-up to assure successful matriculation and is accountable for enrollment and start rate goals.

The Online Admissions Counselor will provide prospective students with the information necessary to make an informed decision about our online programs and our school. This individual will assist applicants with the steps necessary to start school and attain their education goals. Responsibilities Include:

  • Respond to all inquiries generated from website, email, phone calls and other sources
  • Interview and enroll qualified students to meet individual term and annual goals
  • Participate in appropriate recruitment events such as career fairs
  • Produce term reports of contacts generated and students admitted and enrolled
  • Secure referrals and generate leads from all internal and external sources (alumni, students, etc)
  • Manage the enrollment and registration process for students, who have applied, ensuring that admissions requirements are met and Financial Aid and Business Office paperwork is completed in a timely manner
  • Provide support to improve services to the student and increase retention and graduation rate
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and complete all paperwork in a timely manner
  • Utilize all necessary internal resources/personnel to improve enrollment results 
  • Maintain online enrollment goals as set by Director of Online Education

ADJUNCT MATERNITY/OB NURSING FACULTY

Lindsey Wilson College Nursing Division has openings for adjunct faculty in a growing and successful baccalaureate nursing (BSN) program. Positions available Spring 2017.

All adjunct faculty is mentored by a full-time course lead instructor.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (2 years experience) with current active unencumbered KY license
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) (preferred); Bachelor of Science (BSN) candidates considered for clinical instruction only.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written)
